The Latin letter gamma, Ɣ (minuscule: ɣ), is a letter of the Latin alphabet based on the Greek letter gamma (γ). Unlike the Greek gamma, the Latin gamma may have serifs, and its majuscule form is based on the minuscule. It is used to represent a voiced velar fricative, both in the International Phonetic Alphabet, and in the alphabets of African languages such as Dagbani, Dinka, Kabiyé, and Ewe. In certain nonstandard variations of the IPA the majuscule form is used.
The majuscule and the minuscule are located at U+0194 and U+0263 in Unicode, respectively.
